The Conference on Research Innovations in Early Intervention (CRIEI) is a unique research meeting planned by researchers for researchers. CRIEI focuses on methodological advances, research in progress, issues in conducting research, innovative approaches to combining methodologies, and controversial topics in early intervention. Different from many other conferences, the primary purpose of this two-and-one-half day meeting is to provide the opportunity for colleagues from the early intervention arena to engage in thought-provoking discussions about research which are characterized by informality yet in an atmosphere of critical debate. This format allows participants to address a variety of research issues in a way not possible through the typical conference format.
Presenters at CRIEI are encouraged to design panel or poster presentations that create dialogue around compelling research issues. At previous CRIEI conferences, research topics included research methodologies, intervention, assessment, service systems, policy, and personnel development related to young children with disabilities and their families.
